"Well, who would have thought?", is what Mike and I keep thinking. 

One Christmas Eve, when the kids had gone to their dad's for the evening, Mike sent me an ICQ message, and was surprised I was home alone.  I was also very surprised he was home alone.  After all, it was Christmas Eve.  So, we decided to get together for a few hours...  We had an awesome visit.  Of course neither of us was looking for a relationship, so we were very at ease. 

Mike's birthday was January 5th, and he had no plans, so I insisted we do dinner to celebrate.  This was our first "official" date on January 5th, 2002.  Well, we went to the Outback Steakhouse and it was an amazing night.  Neither of us wanted it to end.  Each January 5th we've been back to the Outback to celebrate Mike's birthday and our "anniversary".

So despite both of us insisting several times that we should slow things down, our relationship got stronger and stronger, and now we're getting married in June!
